Thanks for reaching out to Techstars!
As a U.S. company, Techstars is subject to certain laws and regulations regarding economic sanctions and export controls set forth by the U.S. Department of Treasury and U.S. Department of Commerce. Those sanctions prohibit organizations headquartered in the United States from operating in or working with individuals located in certain sanctioned countries and regions including Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, the Crimea region of Ukraine, and Venezuela.
As a result of Techstars required compliance with U.S. sanctions, Techstars accelerators, no matter where they are located, are not able to accept applicants from countries that are subject to U.S. sanctions. At Techstars we work every day to build a global network to help entrepreneurs succeed no matter where they are. We deeply regret the need to withhold the opportunity to apply to one of our programs from anyone.
In the event that the U.S. sanctions against [INSERT COUNTRY] are lifted, Techstars will notify members of its network in the region immediately and looks forward to the opportunity to renew our work together.
